European Parliament's special 'PEST' committee will look closely at procedure for authorising pesticides in EU

As a direct consequence of the polemic surrounding the five-year renewal of the glyphosate licence in the EU, the European Parliament in Strasbourg gave its go-ahead, on Tuesday 6 February, to the creation of a special committee responsible for shedding light on the authorisation procedure for pesticides in the EU and for any suggestions to improve its independence and transparency.

No sooner said than done, the mandate, the duration of the exercise and the digital composition of the future...
