MEPs say re-arrest of head of Amnesty International in Turkey is travesty of justice

01/02/2018 (Agence Europe) – On Thursday 1 February, the European Parliament’s Turkey Forum, consisting of 60 MEPs from different political groups, condemned the continued detention of Taner Kılıç, chair of Amnesty International in Turkey (see EUROPE 11804). An Istanbul court ordered his conditional release on 31 January, after eight months in pre-trial detention.
