15/12/2017 (Agence Europe) – On Friday 15 December, the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Federica Mogherini, announced that an informal meeting would be held on Monday 18 December in Brussels for the Prime Ministers of the Western Balkan Countries (Albania, former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Kosovo, Montenegro and Serbia). In a press release, the European External Action Service explained that, “At the third meeting of this kind this year” discussions will focus on current developments in the Balkans and perspectives for 2018. A European Commission strategy is expected for February, a summit for May and the countries exercising the presidency in 2018, Bulgaria and Austria, intend to make this region a priority of their respective presidencies of the Council of the EU.
