On 28 and 29 November in Ashgabat, under the Presidency of Turkmenistan and with the notable absence of Russia, 52 of the 54 members of Energy Charter Treaty (ECT) (including the EU and 27 of its member states, excluding Italy which is not a signatory) agreed on the need to facilitate investment for sustainable transition and enhanced cooperation for guaranteeing transit.
