20/11/2017 (Agence Europe) – On Monday 20 November, the European Commission approved the extension, until 2013, of two French support measures for the production of audiovisual works of fiction, documentaries and long-length cinematographic works. The Commission, which had already authorised these two measures on 20 December 2011, found that this aid would enable producers to use money calculated on the basis of the use of their works to finance future projects. These measures have been budgeted at €100 million for cinematographic works and at €160 million for audiovisual works. With regard to Article 107§3 of the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union (TFEU), the Commission considered that these measures would continue to promote culture without leading to significant distortion of competition on the single market.
