MEPs want to improve use of structural and investment funds to counter demographic decline in certain regions

On Tuesday 14 November in Strasbourg, MEPs adopted (506 votes for, 103 against, 77 abstentions) an own-initiative report presented by Iratxe García Pérez (S&D, Spain), in which they call for better use of European Structural and Investment Funds (ESI), as a means of tackling demographic change and the depopulating of certain regions.
