Council soon to give green light to launch of negotiations to update EU-Chile trade agreement

On Thursday 9 November, several sources told EUROPE that on Monday 13 November the EU member states are expected to adopt – at ambassador level (Coreper) and then at ministerial level (Foreign Affairs Council) – the mandate proposed by the European Commission to negotiate with Chile on the update of the trade section of the 2002 EU-Chile association agreement.

The Council has lifted the last barrier to the upcoming launch of negotiations between the Commission and Chilean government...
