26/10/2017 (Agence Europe)It was by acclamation on Thursday 26 October that the European Parliament elected Heidi Hautala (Greens/EFA, Finland) vice-president.  She will take the seat on the European Parliament Bureau vacated by fellow Green/EFA member Ulrike Lunacek (Austria).  Hautala, who has been an MEP since 1995, is currently the deputy leader of the Greens/EFA Group and a member of the development and international trade committees.  The elections to fill the vice-president places left vacant by the departures of Alexander Graf Lambsdorff (Alde, Germany) and Ildikó Gáll-Pelcz (EPP, Hungary) will take place at a later session, the Parliament said in a press release.  (MB)
