Council of the EU. ‘Agriculture and Fisheries’ Council. *Fisheries: - Decision on fishing possibilities for certain stocks in the Baltic Sea for 2018. – Discussion on annual EU/Norway consultations. – Drafting of EU’s position ahead of the annual meeting of the International Commission for the Conservation of Atlantic Tunas (Marrakesh, 14-22/11). *Agriculture: -Market developments in the principal agricultural sectors. – Implementation of the sustainable development programme up to 2030 and implications for the CAP. – Any other business: consequences of the Fipronil-contaminated eggs affair; declaration of the extended Visegrad group on the CAP post-2020; anti-doping and anti-subsidy procedures set in place by the United States against Spanish black table olives.

  • Brussels. European Parliament. Activities of the committees. - PETI: workshop on the protection of persons living with a disability. – LIBE-FEMM: hearing on the EPO directive on the mutual recognition between member states of victim protection orders.

Friday 13 October

  • Luxembourg. Council of the EU. ‘Justice and Home Affairs’ Council. *Home Affairs: - Discussion on the proposed revision of the rules on the temporary reintroduction of controls on the internal borders of the Schengen area. – Migration: stock-take on the reform underway of the common European asylum regime and discussion on the migration situation and the resettlement of migrants.
  • Luxembourg. Council of the EU. ‘Environment’ Council. – Examination of legislative proposals to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in sectors not covered by the ETS. – Adoption of conclusions on the Paris Climate Agreement and the 23rd Conference of the Parties to the UNFCC (COP 23 – Bonn, 6-17/11/2017). – Adoption of conclusions on the EU’s priorities ahead of third session of the United Nations Environment Assembly (UNEA-3 - Nairobi 4-6/12/2017).
