Supervisory convergence and risk assessment will be ESMA's priorities for 2018

On Thursday 5 October, the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) published its programme of work for 2018, in which it lays down two major priorities: promoting supervisory convergence and risk assessment.

According to ESMA Chair Steven Maijoor, this working programme “will contribute to ESMA meeting its responsibilities in enhancing investor protection and promoting stably and orderly markets”. In particular, it will aim to come into line with changes made to the authority's...
