25/09/2017 (Agence Europe) – In a press release on 25 September, the Europe Cockpit Association (ECA) appeals for decent working conditions and direct contracts at Ryanair, as enjoyed by other European pilots. ECA points out that the Irish airline systematically uses independent pilots, whose income often depends on the number of flights they make, which has a negative impact on their social rights (such as paid holidays and maternity leave). With the clauses on the place of execution of Ryanair work contracts already seriously questioned by a ruling by the European Court of Justice on 14 September (see EUROPE 11862), ECA is calling for investors to look at viable long-term solutions and to review the company’s social model.
