25/09/2017 (Agence Europe) – On Monday 25 September, the Council of the EU adopted the EU’s negotiating position on partnership priorities for the EU and Armenia. This adoption allows the joint adoption of the priorities by the EU and Armenia, but no date for any joint adoption has been announced. An EU source says that the priorities will facilitate the introduction of cooperation as part of the new, strengthened and overarching partnership, and it is hoped that this can be signed next month. The partnership priorities include the strengthening of institutions and good governance, economic development and commercial outlets, connectivity, energy efficiency, the environment, action for the climate, mobility and contact among citizens (see EUROPE 11866).
