Member states say now is the time for dialogue, rather than sanctions, on the rule of law

European affairs ministers on Monday 25 September renewed their support for the European Commission’s action on the rule of law in Poland, but hoped that dialogue would continue to settle the problems rather than use of sanctions and the Article 7 procedure in the treaty.

All the member states intervened in this briefing on Poland, requested by the European Commission, and a source says that all pointed out the importance of the rule of law, which was compulsory in the EU.
