20/09/2017 (Agence Europe) – At a meeting with Ukrainian Finance Minister Oleksandr Danyliuk on Wednesday 20 September, European Commissioner for the euro Valdis Dombrovskis called on the Ukrainian authorities to provide more information before the end of September on the timetable for the adoption and implementation of the reforms set out in the macro-financial assistance programme for Ukraine so that the Commission can pay out the third and last tranche of €600 million (see EUROPE 11647). Among the required reforms, Dombrovskis highlighted measures to tackle corruption, creation of a national credit registry and the lifting of trade restrictions. Danyliuk emphasised the pensions and health reforms debated in the Ukrainian parliament and a privatisation process. The two men welcomed the economic improvement observed in Ukraine which has seen the country’s recent successful return to the long-term sovereign debt markets. (MB)
