Brussels. European Commission. Conference of heads of mission and of delegation (until 01/09). Heads of mission and delegation of the EU in the world will meet High Representative Federica Mogherini, on 28/08, and the Presidents of the Commission and of the European Parliament, Mr Juncker and Mr Tajani on Tuesday 29/08. At the same occasion, they will also meet several European Commissioners.

Brussels. European Commission. Weekly meeting of the College of Commissioners.
Brussels. European Parliament. Activities of the committees. AFET-DEVE: meeting with the foreign affairs minister of Yemen, Abdulmalik Al-Mekhlafi. – EMPL: the European Parliament coordinator for negotiations on Brexit, Guy Verhofstadt, will report to the committee on the state of progress of negotiations on social and employment policy; vote in committee on the provisional agreement concluded with the Council in July on stricter limits for the exposure of workers to harmful substances. – BUDG: vote on unblocking an additional €500 million to tackle youth employment, following an agreement concluded with the Council; vote on the use of €1.2 billion under the EUSF to help Italian regions hit by earthquakes in 2016 and 2017.

Brussels. European Parliament. Activities of the committees (to 31/08). – AGRI: hearing of the European Commission on the use of products containing Fipronil on chicken farms and consequences for the food chain. ENVI: vote on new rules on the composition and labelling of alternative meal-replacement diets. – DEVE-INTA: public hearing on “The revision of the EU strategy on aid to trade”.

Tallinn. Council of the EU. Informal meeting of the ministers for agriculture and fisheries (to 05/09). – Stock-take of the CAP reform of 2003 on managing risks to farmers and of the instruments provided for this purpose. – Increasing the level of the crisis reserve and build-up of these sums over the years at national or EU level. – Direct payments as a management and risk coverage tool for farmers: should some of these payments be channelled into the risk management fund, and should this be voluntary or compulsory for farmers?
