25/08/2017 (Agence Europe) – On Friday 25 August, a spokesperson for the European Union condemned the beheading two days earlier of at least nine fighters and two civilians in an attack claimed by so-called Islamic State on a checkpoint of forces loyal to commander Khalifa Haftar in the region of Jufra. "The reports of the beheading of 11 people in an attack on a checkpoint are extremely worrying", the EEAS spokesperson stated when questioned by EUROPE. "The EU condemns all acts of cruelty and violations of international human rights and international humanitarian law", the spokesperson added. (CG)
