Testbiotech says German abstention paves way for import of herbicide-resistant soya

Member state experts have failed to garner the qualified majority required to approve or reject the Commission proposal seeking to authorise the import into the EU of soya DAS-68416-4 which is resistant to the herbicide 2,4D (D for dichlorophenol) and gluphosinate but only Germany abstained, regretted Testbiotech on 14 July.
