EFSA says raw or undercooked pork is main cause of hepatitis E infection in EU

According to a scientific opinion published by the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) on Tuesday 11 July, domestic pigs are the main carriers of hepatitis E in the EU and it is the consumption of raw or undercooked pork or pork liver that is the main source of transmission of this hepatitis E liver infection to man.
