12/07/2017 (Agence Europe) – Cooperation on energy efficiency was on the agenda of the dialogue between the EU, represented by European Neighbourhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations Commissioner Johannes Hahn and European Commission Director General for Energy Dominique Ristori, and the countries of the Eastern Partnership (Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Republic of Moldova and Ukraine) in Chisinau on Wednesday 12 July. The parties discussed prospects for translating prioritisation of energy efficiency into policy and investment opportunities. Following the example of Georgia and Ukraine, where joint EU-international financial institution missions identified key areas for short-term regulatory and institutional changes, other interested partner countries may benefit of this initiative. The EU would continue to provide funds for energy efficiency projects and investments for companies, citizens and the public sector in these countries. (EH)
