European Parliament committee on budgets approves negotiating mandate on 2018 budget

In Brussels on Thursday 29 June, the committee on budgets of the European Parliament adopted (22 votes to 3 with two abstentions) the report detailing the principles to be followed in negotiations with the Council on the 2018 budget.

“We will not accept any reduction of the programmes that are important to the European citizens in the forthcoming negotiations with the Council”, warned the rapporteur, Siegfried Mureşan (EPP, Romania) (see EUROPE 11810).
