22/06/2017 (Agence Europe) – Ten member states (Belgium, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Hungary, Ireland, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Portugal, Czech Republic, United Kingdom, Slovakia, Slovenia and Sweden) are requesting that the European Union be in a position to see the full potential of opportunities existing in the digital economy. They made this request in a letter addressed to the leaders of the institutional trio on Tuesday 20 June. According to the signatories, the EU should facilitate the expansion of new market segments (the block chain, big data processing, artificial intelligence) and facilitate the free flow of data whilst respecting citizens’ digital rights (cyber security, interoperability of digital services).
