07/06/2017 (Agence Europe) – In what might be seen as a collateral damage from Brexit, the second round of inter-institutional negotiations on the long-term reform of the EU emissions trading system (ETS), scheduled for 30 May, was cancelled and put back to a date as yet undecided but at the end of June at the earliest. The reason is that the Parliament rapporteur, Ian Duncan (ECR, UK), is campaigning in the snap general election called for 8 June. The Maltese Presidency of the Council of the EU has said that the negotiation meeting cannot take place before 27 June but no firm date has yet been agreed. (AN)
