23/05/2017 (Agence Europe) – On Monday 22 May, the European Commission published a working paper saying that it was preparing to launch an impact study on the harmonised deployment of cooperative intelligent transport systems (C-ITS). This is to estimate the most appropriate level of harmonisation and whether binding arrangements are relevant, in order to strengthen "the interoperability and continuity of C-ITS across Europe with a view to significantly improving road safety and traffic efficiency". The impact study will be launched in the second half of this year, along with a 12-week public consultation in the third quarter of 2017, so that the stakeholders can comment on the subject. (LT)
