Quito terminates bilateral investment treaties with seven EU countries

On Tuesday 16 May, four months after Ecuador acceded to the free-trade agreement between the EU and the Andean countries on 1 January, the Ecuadorian President, Rafael Correa signed decrees terminating 16 bilateral investment treaties (BITs), seven of which with EU countries.
