On Thursday 18 May, the European Parliament confirmed the negotiating mandate for the two German co-rapporteurs Petra Kammerevert (S&D) and Sabine Verheyen (EPP) on the directive for audiovisual media services (see EUROPE 11774). The Council of the EU will attempt to reach a political agreement of principle (general approach) on Tuesday 23 May.
