The United States and China accounted for a third of EU goods trade in 2016 

According to figures released by the EU’s statistical office, Eurostat, on Wednesday 29 March, the United States and China, which between them account for 32.6% of the EU’s trade in goods in 2016, remain the EU’s two biggest trading partners, well ahead of Switzerland, Russia, Turkey and Japan, but the trends observed in recent years vary widely for each of these countries.
