31/01/2017 (Agence Europe) – In the follow-up to the raft of measures for a transition to a clean energy system presented by the European Commission in November 2016 (see EUROPE 11679), the 11th edition of the EU’ Sustainable Energy Week (19-25 June) will be launched with the theme of clean energy for all. This initiative will include a conference organised by the executive agency for EU SMEs, which brings together representatives from the Commission, public authorities and stakeholders in the energy field to debate policies, share best practices and discuss innovative ideas in the sustainable energy arena. Calls for conference session proposals and candidacies for the EU Sustainable Energy Prize have been launched and will close on 3 March. This prize will be awarded to the best accomplishments in clean and efficient energy in several categories (enterprise, public sector, consumers, energy islands and citizens). (EH)
