Maja Kocijancic, the spokesperson for the European External Action Service (EEAS), has called on the president of the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia (FYROM), Gjorge Ivanov, to launch a consultation and appoint a leader for the formation of a government(see EUROPE 11712).
Parliamentary elections were held in the country on 11 December and the deadline for forming a government was set at midnight on 29 January. However, the political parties have still not managed to reach agreement.
