Nine European transport ministers are preparing to launch a “lorry-drivers’ alliance on Tuesday 31 January, French Secretary of State for Transport Alain Vidalies announced on Monday 30 January.
The purpose is to address unfair competition in the road transport sector, and especially “social dumping”, a real bone of contention between the member states of Eastern and Western Europe (see EUROPE 11680).
