Commission tight-lipped after Supreme Court judgement, saying only that it awaits triggering of article 50 of Treaty

The European Commission declined to comment on the judgement of the British Supreme Court, which on Tuesday 24 January required the British government to seek the approval of the British Parliament before triggering article 50 of the Treaty of the EU on the withdrawal of the United Kingdom from the European Union, a step that London hoped to take before the end of March.
