04/01/2017 (Agence Europe) – EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Federica Mogherini and Commissioner Johannes Hahn have both condemned last Sunday’s New Year's Eve attack on a nightclub in Istanbul. In a press release they stated: “we strongly condemn all acts of terrorism and confirm our continued commitment to working with the authorities of Turkey in preventing and combatting these threats effectively”. They also reiterated the EU’s solidarity with Turkey and all its people. The attack killed at least 39 people and has been claimed by Daesh. It has been condemned by many different European leaders and ministers. (CG)
