07/12/2016 (Agence Europe) – On Tuesday 6 December, Hungary became the 30th member of the OECD Development Assistance Committee (DAC), the leading international forum for bilateral providers of development co-operation aid. Hungary’s bilateral contribution to development co-operation has experienced a rapid expansion over recent years, notably in the growth of official development assistance (ODA), which reached USD 156 million in 2015 (this mainly goes to western and eastern Balkan countries, as well as Ethiopia, Kenya and Laos). 18 EU member states (Germany, Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Spain, Finland, France, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Slovenia, Sweden) and the EU are members of the OECD’s DAC.
