17/11/2016 (Agence Europe) – On Tuesday 15 November in Brussels, the Innovation and Networks Executive Agency (INEA) gave the go-ahead for the “Ultra-E” project that will set up 25 ultrafast road infrastructure recharging points along the main corridors of the Trans-European Transport Network (TEN-T). This project is supported by the Connecting Europe Facility (CEF) (see EUROPE 11575). These new generation recharging points will be have a recharge capacity of up to 350 kW and will reduce recharge times from 1 hour 30 minutes to 20 minutes for 300 km of driving autonomy. Dirk Beckers, INEA Director, and Andreja Kodrin, a member of the cabinet of European Commissioner for Transport Violeta Bulc, said that this project therefore seeks to help expand electric transport as part of the transport decarbonisation strategy.
