17/11/2016 (Agence Europe) – On Monday 14 November, during the Marrakesh climate conference (COP 22), Linda Gillham, the spokesperson for the Council of European Municipalities and Regions (CEMR) and PLATFORMA, as well as advisor to Runnymede Council, drew attention to the modalities for accessing funds for meeting the challenges of climate change. She stated that “without easier access to the different available funds, such as the European Structural & Investment Funds, the Green Climate Fund and the Global Environment Facility, we will not be able to mitigate the catastrophic impact of climate change on the ground”. This demand was also included in the roadmap that day during the summit of local and regional representatives (see EUROPE 11667). (PH)
