15/11/2016 (Agence Europe) – On Monday 14 November, the European Commission announced the five winners of European Broadband Awards. This prize rewards the best projects involved in the field of Internet broadband distribution. The prize winners were selected from a list of 66 projects. The 16 finalists are: (1) for the “innovative finance, business and investment models” category awarded to the Wielkopolska (WBN) Broadband Network, in Poland; (2) for the “ reduction of costs and co-investment” category, awarded to the public-private partnership for the Net4all project in Italy; (3) for the ”socio-economic and affordable cost” category for the FibreOptic project in the Netherlands; (4) for the “openness and competition” category for the nöGIG project in Austria and (5) for the “future and quality service” category awarded to the RemIX, project in the United Kingdom.
