Council adopts €23.25 million expenditure for EULEX until 14 June 2017

15/11/2016 (Agence Europe) – With publication in the Official Journal on Tuesday 15 November, the Council adopted a budget of €23.25 million for EULEX KOSOVO, the EU rule of law mission, for the period from 15 December 2016 to 14 June 2017.  This is a reduction on the €34.5 million budget for the period from 14 June to 14 December 2016.  For the period from 15 June 2016 to 14 June 2017, €29.1 million has been allocated to support judicial proceedings (special prosecution bureau and special chambers) relocated to the Netherlands and retroactively to cover expenditure arising from the support to the relocated judicial proceedings as of 1 April 2016 (see EUROPE 11573).  In all, over the period from 15 June 2016 to 14 June 2017, the EULEX budget amounts to €86.85 million.  (CG)
