18/10/2016 (Agence Europe) – On Wednesday 19 October, the respective presidents of Ukraine, Russia and France – Petro Porochenko, Vladimir Putin and François Hollande – will meet for a "Normandy format" meeting in Berlin, at the invitation of Germany's Chancellor Angela Merkel. According to a press release from the French Presidency, this meeting will take place just over a year after the Paris summit of 2 October 2015 (see EUROPE 11403) and will help the leaders "discuss implementation of the Minsk agreements and the next stages of the process to resolve the crisis in Ukraine". The meeting planned for Wednesday evening 19 October between Porochenko and the president of the European Council, Donald Tusk, has been cancelled. Relations between EU and Russia have been included on the agenda of the European Council for 20-21 October. (CG)
