10/10/2016 (Agence Europe) – On Sunday 9 October, the spokesperson for the European External Action Service condemned the car bomb attack a few hours earlier in front of a police station in Hakkari-Semdinli, in south-eastern Turkey. The attack left 18 people dead - 10 soldiers and 8 civilians - and around 20 people wounded. The EEAS spokesperson stated that "the European Union and Turkey stand united against all forms of terrorism", and added that "the dangerous spiral of violence in the south east of Turkey must come to an end, arms must be laid down and a political process based on a genuine dialogue needs to start". The EU is ready to support this process. (CG)
