European Parliament demands harmonised assessment of all materials in contact with food

Concerned about consumer health, the European Parliament called in Strasbourg on Thursday 6 October for the EU to harmonise safety demands for food packaging, kitchen utensils and tableware that are widely used in daily life without it being known whether they are safe.
