Lithuania asked to improve rail interoperability

In a reasoned opinion sent on Thursday 29 September, the European Commission calls on Lithuania to comply with European legislation on the interoperability of the rail network.

Lithuania has yet to properly transpose the directive on the interoperability of railways (Commission Directive 2014/106/EC of 5 December 2014) which seeks to ensure a national rail network that allows the safe and uninterrupted movement of trains.  In particular, the country has not so far modified the harmonised...
