EUIPO claims counterfeit medicines create losses of €10.2 billion in EU

29/09/2016 (Agence Europe) – A report from the EU Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) published on Thursday 29 September reveals that counterfeit medicines in Europe are responsible for a 4.4% shortfall in legal medical sales every year.  This shortcoming is also the equivalent of the loss of 37,700 jobs in the pharmaceutical sector and an additional 53,200 jobs in the European economy as a whole.
