26/08/2016 (Agence Europe) – Arianespace successfully launched two American satellites into orbit from the Guiana Space Centre (known by its French acronym, CSG) on Wednesday 24 August, for Intelsat (Intelsat 33 and Intelsat 36). This is the sixth launch and the fourth using Ariane V in 2016. This launch also marks the 73rd success in a row for the European launcher, Arianespace announced in a press release. It is worth noting that this is the first launch since Arianespace was taken over by ASL (EUROPE 11598). The space industry will be front-page news in Europe in the autumn, when the European Commission presents the space strategy for the EU (EUROPE 11551), and in the winter, when the European Space Agency (ESA) strategy is announced (EUROPE 11563).
