25/07/2016 (Agence Europe) - US Presidency candidate, Donald Trump, mentions possible WTO exit. The Republican candidate in the US presidential election, Donald Trump, explained in an interview broadcast on the NBC channel on Sunday 24 July, that the US could possibly withdraw from the World Trade Organisation (WTO) if he is elected. During a discussion on the question of jobs in the US and competition from Mexico, as part of the free trade agreement between the two countries, he provided assurances that “We're going to renegotiate or we're going to pull out”. Trump added that “These trade deals are a disaster, Chuck. The World Trade Organisation is a disaster”. Trump is demanding that US companies that relocate their jobs in Mexico to sell their products on US soil should pay a tax.
