Commission monitors application of rules to counter trafficking of cultural goods

Brussels, 22/07/2016 (Agence Europe) - More than a third of EU member states have failed to transpose an EU directive of 2014 on the restoration of cultural goods that left a country illegally, explains the European Commission, which launched infringement proceedings on Friday 22 July.

The Commission has sent a reasoned opinion to eight member states: Cyprus, Spain, Finland, France, Lithuania, Poland, Portugal and Romania.
