Court explains remit of national jurisdictions in trade disputes

Brussels, 16/06/2016 (Agence Europe) - On Thursday 16 June, the Court of Justice of the European Union ruled that in a cross-border trade dispute, a company cannot go to court in a member state purely because the financial damage it suffered materialised on its bank account held in that member state.

In Case C-12/15, the Court of Justice consideration was sought by the Supreme Court of the Netherlands, which had been requested to rule on a dispute involving the Universal Music record...
