Rules discriminating against European and other foreign investment to remain in place

Brussels,16/06/2016 (Agence Europe) - Rules discriminating against foreign direct investment in Algeria, which are criticised by the EU and the World Trade Organisation (to which Algeria has been negotiating accession since 1987), are to remain in place. This will naturally influence the current talks between the EU and Algiers on the revision that has already begun of the trade arrangements in the Association Agreement between the two sides (see EUROPE 11408 & 11551).
