According to a report by the International Labor Organisation (ILO) published on Wednesday 18 May, there has been a slight increase in poverty over the past few years in EU countries. According to ILO experts "relative poverty" rates (the percentage of the population whose income is below 60% of the median equivalent income in the EU) remained fairly stable at 16.5% between 2005 and 2008 but has experienced an upward trend since then, rising from 16.8% in 2012 to 17.2% in 2014.
