On Monday 9 May, the Italian Minister for foreign affairs, Paolo Gentiloni, announced that an international ministerial meeting would be held on Libya on Monday 16 May in Vienna. During a visit to Tunisia, he explained that "The meeting will be held in Vienna between the Foreign Affairs Ministers of major countries in the region, as well as key international players". The Italian delegation informed the press that the meeting would be jointly organised by Mr Gentiloni and his US counterpart, the US Secretary of State, John Kerry, on 16 May. According to one European source, the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Federica Mogherini, is expected to take part in it. During a press briefing, the Italian minister also emphasised the need for a, "joint effort to support the stabilisation process in Libya". The National Libyan Government Understanding, supported by the international community, has not always obtained a vote of confidence from the House of Representatives.
