10/05/2016 (Agence Europe) - Energy prospects information day. An information day was organised on Monday 9 May in Algiers at the Ministry of Energy. It will focus on the prospects created by cooperation with the EU in the energy arena and will be attended by the European ambassador, Mark Skolil. This event will be the prelude to a consultation taking place in view of the Algerian-European business forum on energy planned for 24 May in Algiers. The Algerian press agency, APS, explained that this forum will be, "based on the gas industry, renewable energies and energy efficiency". It will be open to private operators working throughout the equipment manufacturing production chain. One of its aims will be to help increase the number of European businesses working in this sector in Algeria. APS also pointed out that "Almost 70% of Algerian gas exports go to Europe, whilst a third of the foreign companies operating in the gas sector upstream are European". (FB)
