10/05/2016 (Agence Europe) - EP's LIBE Committee supports visa waiver for nationals from three other countries. On Monday 9 May in Strasbourg, members of the EP Civil Liberties Committee adopted the visa waiver programmes for Columbia, Palau and Tonga. These programmes will allow nationals from these three countries to travel without visas in the Schengen area and for European nationals to visit these countries without visas. The programmes were adopted by 44 votes in favour, as opposed to 4 against, with no abstentions; 45 votes in favour (as opposed to 4 against, with no abstentions) and by 45 votes (as opposed to 4 against, with no abstentions). The plenary votes will take place in June. (SP)
